On-Machine Measurement was a DTI-supported initiative
for demonstrating the benefits of good measurement practice to SMEs.
Measurement is one of business’s hidden benefits – something
that companies have to get right but all too often its importance
is not obvious.
In fact the benefits of good measurement practice
frequently dwarf any investment in measurement technology and the
On-Machine Measurement programme demonstrated large returns due
to:
- reduced scrap
- retained and new business
- time savings
- confidence in capability
All this with a free demonstration of a solution to a measurement
issue that arose after a walk round the company, and a business
case presented to the company to show the return on investment.
The service gave unbiased advice through highly interactive understanding
of practical issues, and kept paperwork to an absolute minimum.
